Hi Jes - I've also been reading Matthew with you. Matthew 2:3. The Magi must have been asking all around Jerusalem about this "one who has been born king of the Jews" before Herod sent for them. What a buzz they must have stirred up! A people under the oppression of the Roman Empire would be very disturbed by any message that might stir up Rome's anger against them and deepen their troubles. Also, for the faithful remnant who eagerly awaited their Messiah, this would be a message that would put them on the edge of their seats - I think agitated would describe this feeling as well! How exciting to think that deliverance might be at hand. Little did they know...

I'm curious to know people's thoughts on the fact that the genealogy in chapter 1 follows Joseph's line. Since Joseph is not Jesus's biological father, what is its real significance? Was Mary of the same line?

Hey everyone...I just sent this note to Jamiee on Facebook before posting it here, and with her permission I'm sharing it with you now...

I just want to share one thing with you...know that the MSG is not a Bible, and that Eugene Peterson reportedly said he didn't write it to be considered a version. His plan, as I understand it, was that it be used as more of a commentary/paraphrase..

There are some things in the Message that cannot be linked back to the original languages...as in the place in the New Testament where he calls God the "God of green hope." Romans 15:13

Some research done on the God of green hope points to this being a new-age god.

There are also many other places of concern in it...just wanted to tell you bc I love you.

I didn't want to post this to the blog without your permission though, because it's not my heart to do anything but share the truth in love.

Die to self is easy to tell someone, but so hard to do. This is true for all mankind, why else would Adam and Eve have taken Satan's word over God's? I mean, come on! They walked and talked directly WITH GOD. Face to face. And still they chose self.

BUT... I have an advantage they didn't, I have God LIVING IN ME. If I die to self, I decrease. God will increase. What a gift to have this intimate relatioship with Him. Not even my husband can know me as well as my God. It blows my mind.

I found your blog just today and I thin that you should not stop writing!
There are always some sick people who do not have anything else to do than making other's life hard...
you should report this person and block her IP. Such things have to be stopped!

I know many people who had CCSVI performed and I do believe in it, though I know that it does not help all.

I believe that it is just a start and that taking care of proper rehabilitation can be the key in many cases. Do you do rehabilitation on a daily basis?

I found your name on Montel. My husband has MS and is waiting for his CCSVI appt. We're hopeful and praying. Don't give up on your blog. Jesus said we would be hated for his namesake (Mt 10:22-23so rejoice when someone says hurtful things. They're just reacting to your spirit. Our battle is not flesh and blood but powers and prinicpalities (Eph 6:1). Hang in there!
